genital warts examinationGenital warts occur in both male and female. The incidence of genital wart is more in female than in male. The reason is female anatomy is more conducive for the virus to thrive. Men even may not suffer from genital wart but once exposed they become carriers of HPV.

The transmission of genital wart from one affected person to another person results from intimate physical contact between the two persons. The worst part is that the person carrying the virus may not even have any genital wart in the body. Now, since this is the most common way of transmission, there is no other alternative but to resort to healthy lifestyle. Safe sexual practice should be followed to avoid transmission or minimize exposure to genital wart.

There is no time period for the manifestation of genital wart from the time of infection. Transmission of genital wart will cause infection of HPV although there will be no outward indications of this infection for long period of stretching years. The HPV has the capability to remain dormant for number of years.

On the other hand, it has also been seen in number of cases that genital wart spread very quickly. The exact reason for such difference in the behavior of genital wart infection could not be established. It is inferred so far as due to psychological    differences from person to person.

Genital wart may be transmitted through close contact with objects which were exposed to the virus like unwashed or not properly disinfected medical equipment that were earlier used on a genital wart infected person.

It is also observed that transmission of genital wart from an infected pregnant mother to her unborn child. The unfortunate child gets the wart infection in the mouth or throat as these are the most vulnerable areas for the infection.

Healthy lifestyle can go a long way in the prevention of such type of contagious disease.
